In the period between the formal engagement and the marriage, couples from both love and arranged unions begin the process of relationship building, deepening their knowledge of and connection to each other. They start to communicate more with each other and learn more about each other’s personalities and habits. Sometimes during this process conflict or incompatibility arises which leads to confusion and a belief that they may not be a good match. This leads them or their families to seek out psychological and legal counselling. As a result of the counselling process we offer, engaged couples are able to explore the issues affecting them and identify underlying reasons for their conflicts. More often than not we are able to identify and resolve the issues enabling the couple to proceed on to a happy harmonious marital relationship. In cases where it becomes clear that the couple are not a good match, we work towards achieving a mutual consent discharge from the obligation without legal recourse.
